Gabrielle poses for V Magazine in a Fendi Pre Fall 2016 and Gucci platforms.
Gabriel Union is know for her funny and at times silly personality, but more so her lengthy acting career. From t.v. to movies, she's done it all. Her newest venture is a movie about Nat Turner and the rebellion he led in 1831, which was the biggest slave revolt in U.S. history. Gabrielle is known to voice her opinion on all types of issues and this is one she couldn't pass on.
“I got the script and it sat on my desk because I thought, Who the F would remake Birth of a Nation? That’s racist propaganda BS. After I hadn’t responded, they told me that it’s the Nat Turner story—they’ve reclaimed the title. So I read it, and then I began to stalk Nate. I’ve never been more dogged in my pursuit to be a part of something in my career.” - Gabrielle Union via VMagazine.com
We will be sure to look out for this film to see if it is or isn't jus more racist propaganda. We don't need anymore slave movies, but we will keep hope alive! Take a look at the trailer below.
