Today, Jay Z and another big names in music, to include Win and Regine from Arcade Fire, Kanye, Beyoncé, Daft Punk, Jack White, Nicki Minaj, Madonna, Rihanna, Usher, Alicia Keys, J. Cole, Drake and more banded together to relaunch Tidal, the first ever artist owned streaming service.
During the ceremony the artists signed a declaration after a heartfelt speech about the new service and it's purpose given by Alicia Keys.
There will be no free, ad-supported plan; monthly subscriptions cost $19.95 for high quality streaming and $9.95 for standard quality. The service has deals with all of the major record labels. It also offers curated playlists and editorial. Social media erupted with videos, posts, and even a hashtag #TIDALFORALL
